PictureA wedding morning full of giggles!
You’re engaged! Congratulations! You’re into wedding planning mode, picked your date, booked your prefect venue, have a thousand Pinterest boards on the go, now onto the rest…..but where do you start? It can feel so overwhelming looking for suppliers for your big day that will suit you as a couple, match your vibe and energy, be reliable, fit your budget and help you create the perfect day you’ve always dreamed of. Well let me help. I’ll guide you through a few tips on what to do and look for to help find your perfect wedding hairstylist who will do all of the above (and more!) which can also be transferred to use to find other suppliers too.

PORTFOLIO
So, first of all, have a look at their portfolio. This is so important when looking for wedding hair, or any supplier who’s work is based on aesthetics (how beautiful things look) so hairstylists, makeup artists, photographers, florists etc. Make sure you love their work and style and that you can see examples of their work that you would like for your big day. They might do an incredible boho half up but don’t do the glam Hollywood wave you’d like and vice versa. If you ask a stylist to create something that isn’t their style of work, you might not get exactly what you’d hoped for. Most stylists will have their most recent work on their social media so head over to there as well as their website to have good snoop. Which leads nicely onto the next one……

STALK THEM!
This person will be with you on one of the biggest mornings of your life so you need to make sure you think you’ll get on with them. Watch their stories, read their posts, watch their reels, look at their reviews, all these things will give you an insight into them as a person. Will they be the calming influence you need or bring the party energy you want for the morning? Or both!
If you book with me you can be sure to get that extra friend that you didn’t know you needed for your prep morning. I’m always there for whatever you might need, whether that be a quiet, friendly voice to help calm those last minute nerves or someone to sing along to those 90s pop classics with you, I’m your gal! I apologise in advance for the involuntary singing along to the playlist, I just can’t help myself sometimes! I’ll also drop a few dad jokes in those moments that you need a distraction to calm the nerves or keep the tears at bay. I mean, you might be laughing at me rather than with me but as long as it makes you giggle and grounds you before you head off to marry your best friend, that’s all that matters. I’ll help do up dresses, tie shoes, attach button holes, blot flower stems, give you a straw so don’t ruin your lippy, fan you if you get a bit warm, even drive guests to the ceremony.
You’re booking an extra friend and an expert to guide you through the morning, not just a hairstylist.

ASK QUESTIONS
A quick FYI for you, we don’t expect you to know everything on how to plan a wedding! It may be your first time but we have been to many many wedding mornings and can help guide you through the planning process where and if needed. Make sure you ask your potential stylist questions. Whether you want to know about timings, how a change of location would work or how to navigate the trial process, just ask! We understand it can be overwhelming and it can help to chat through elements of the planning process with a professional to make sure you’re on the right track. Its also a great opportunity to get to know your stylist a bit better, build a relationship and get to know how they work.

BUDGET
This might seem like an obvious one but make sure their prices fit with your budget or how much you’d like to pay. Some suppliers will have their prices on their website so you can have a quick check before you enquire for a personalised quote to get a rough idea and save you having to message lots of people before finding out that they’re out of budget. A hairstylist’s prices will be based on many different things including skill level, experience and quality of products used. There’s a stylist (and supplier) to suit every budget!

PLEASE DON’T GHOST US
Just a little note to end on, ghosting a supplier is a real thing! It can take a fair bit of time to and froing with emails and messages and creating a quote for each enquiry so it can be disheartening when you send over a quote and then never hear from a couple again! If you decide not to book with a supplier, that’s absolutely fine but just drop us a quick message thanking us for our time and but it’s out of budget or you’ve decided to book somewhere else for example. Just a little acknowledgment will be much appreciated 😊

HAVE FUN!
Planning a wedding is fun! Yes a little stressful at times but it’s exciting to dream, visualise and create your perfect day!
I’d love to be able to help and be a part of creating your perfect day, just drop me a message if you’d like to chat about how that will look for you and your wedding!
Happy planning!
